Family Fun Day

Join Wild Basin for a day of fun for the whole family! Come hike the trails, learn about the preserve, be creative, or just relax and enjoy some good music.

Carpool or ride share recommended.

ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES IN VISITOR CENTER 
10:00am–2:00pm
Get creative at our art nature table and participate in kid friendly activities by local nature organizations.

GUIDED HIKE
10:00am-12:00pm
Join us for a special 2 hour guided hike in the Hill Country with seasoned trail guide and naturalist, John Barr. Appropriate for teenagers and adults. Sign up at here

PHOTO CONTEST EXHIBIT 
10:00am-2:00pm
View pictures by finalists from our annual photo contest and vote for your favorite. The grand prize winner will be announced between 3pm-5pm at the Photo Contest Reception.

BILL OLIVER & THE OTTER SPACE BAND - LIVE ENVIRONMENTAL MUSIC 
11:00am–2:00pm
Join Austin’s own “Environmental Troubadour”, Bill Oliver, and his fun-filled “Otter Space Band” on the Visitors Center deck for 3 hours of fun environmental music. With over twenty years of concerts, campfires, and cafetoriums, Bill’s programs are educational and entertaining, engaging and motivating. In schools, National Parks, and river-side celebrations, his songs bring to life the vital issues of Habitat conservation.

Kids and adults can pose as their favorite Wild Basin animal and capture the moment on camera!

PHOTO CONTEST RECEPTION 
3:00pm-5:00pm 
Join us after the Fun Day event to celebrate the category winners from our annual photo contest! There will be refreshments and we will announce the winner of the grand prize.
