McCarthy Lecture Series - Subversive Hospitality: A Catholic Ethic of Immigration

Subversive Hospitality: A Catholic Ethic of Immigration

Dr. Kristin Heyer

Dominant rhetoric shaping the immigration debate in the US can distort the realities that migrants face and become surrogates for other cultural and political concerns. Dr. Heyer’s talk explores resources from Christian ethics that challenge these dominant, instrumentalist frameworks that too often de-humanize newcomers and offers a counternarrative of subversive hospitality with moral, spiritual and policy implications.

Free and open to the public. Reception immediately following.
