C-CERT is offering CERT Basic Training (FEMA course G-317) this Summer 2023! CERT Basic Training consists of 9 total units that will be divided over the course of 4 Thursdays in June and July. Individuals that complete all 9 units will receive a FEMA recognized transferable CERT Certification and will be eligible for a credentialed member status with SEU C-CERT.

If you would like to complete CERT Basic Training, please register here on GivePulseParticipants in CERT Basic Training should download the CERT Participant Manual available on the website above. Participants should also complete FEMA’s online IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100 course prior to attending basic training. This course is free, online, self-guided, and lasts approximately 2 hours. Access and more information may be found here. Once you have completed the online course, please download and email your completion certificate to seuccert@stedwards.edu.

    • Unit 1 – Disaster Preparedness
    • Unit 2 – CERT Organization
    • Unit 8 – Terrorism and CERT
  • DAY 2: Thursday, June 29th, 12pm-6:30pm, Fleck 305
    • Unit 3 - Disaster Medical Operations 1
    • Unit 4 - Disaster Medical Operations 2
    • Unit 5 – Disaster Psychology
  • DAY 3: Thursday, July 6th, 12pm-6pm, Fleck 305
    • Unit 6 – Fire Safety and Utility Controls
    • Unit 7 – Light Search and Rescue Operations
  • DAY 4: Thursday, July 13th, 12pm-4pm, Fleck 305
    • Unit 9 – Course Review, Final Exam, and Disaster Simulation
