This is the required training session for Student Organization Leaders. Check-in will begin at 2:30 pm, and the event will start at 3 pm. Please have your Topper Safe badge and Event Pass ready when you are checking in. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will not be counted as present.
Topics include: Risk Management Training, 25 Live Training, Event Planning, Collegiate Link, Student Organization Funding (SOF), and more.
In accordance with Texas Education Code 51.9361, Risk Management Training is required for all student organizations.
Each organization is expected to have at least two leadership representatives (Not a general member) participate for each academic year. These representatives should be officers of the organization. The two student representatives may not represent more than 2 organizations during the Risk Management training. Advisors must attend at least once every three academic years. Consequences for not completing included no travel, no funding, potential loss of recognition. Organizations that are strictly for Graduate or are true Honor Society organizations, i.e. no events outside of induction, are exempt from this requirement, though attendance is still encouraged.
If your organization is not able to attend then you must email firstname.lastname@example.org with a detailed rationale. You will be allowed to attend the alternative sessions offered to the New Student Organization however you will not be allowed to hold events until this is completed.
